House of Variety, Patna, is regarded as one of Bihar’s most ambitious new cultural initiatives. Its objective is not merely to create another venue for arts and culture, but to re-establish Patna as a vibrant centre for theatre, cinema, literature, and the visual and performing arts.

The history of Indian theatre and cinema includes many remarkable artists whose contributions have gradually faded from public memory. Shivendra Sinha is one such figure. Among the earliest Indians to receive professional acting training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), London, he graduated in 1954 and later built a distinguished career in British theatre, television, and Indian cinema.

Our Team

Suman Sinha

A visionary businessman and driving force behind the iconic Regent Cinema, a cultural landmark established in 1929. Recognizing the power of cinema, art and literature as a medium to influence and shape societal value, he has introduced the House of Variety

Vineet Kumar

An accomplished veteran actor hailing from the prestigious National School of Drama, has left an in-erasable mark on the cinematic landscape with his versatile performances in Indian and western cinema as well as on television.

Punj Prakash

Active in the field of theatre since 1994, as an actor, director, play writer, actor trainer and light designer. He is the founder member of the Patna based theatre group Dastak in 2002. He did a specialization in the subject of acting from the National School of Drama, New Delhi and worked in the repertory of NSD as an actor since 2007-12.

Shweta Sinha

Shweta Sinha did her Graduation in English Honours from Delhi University, Commercial Arts (Graphic Designing) from Delhi College of Art and Multimedia from Arena Aptech. Having vast working experience in globally acclaimed Advertising Agencies, Chaitra Leo Burnett in Delhi.

Saw the play “ Panchlight” yesterday 25th Jan 2026. Wonderful performance by each and every artist ! The play was so well-coordinated , so hilarious that all of us were glued to our seats for one and half hour at a stretch ! The director and all the actors have worked so hard ! Almost everyone could act , sing and dance so well ! 100times better than watching an actual movie ! Mesmerised by such a great performance! Hats off for bringing theatre to our Patna city ! Grateful !

Never imagined such a place in Patna. Visited to watch "Mare gaye gulfam" and the experience was great.
