SHAKKAR KE PAANCH DAANE  (Hindi)

Rajkumar has been requested to write a poem for a compilation to be published.
If you knew Rajkumar you’d realize the absurdity of the
request.
In an hour long monologue, Rajkumar tells us about his unremarkable life in his nondescript village and the five grains of sugar – the five people – who have stood out in this drab life for reasons stranger than fiction.
The filmy mother; her poet brother Pundaleek; Raghu, the school hero; old man Radhey; and the anonymous ‘Truckwala dost’ .
As Rajkumar talks, the five grains become a single life-game that he has been unknowingly playing for years……
…….and Rajkumar realizes that everyone has a story inside them.

ABOUT THE GROUP

aRANYA was formed in 2004 by a group of friends who, in all honesty, wanted nothing more or less than to tell their own stories.
Anyone who has a story to tell is welcome into the forest !

Director’s note
DIRECTOR’S NOTE      KUMUD MISHRA
A director’s note for my version of Shakker Ke Paanch Daane……I don’t have too much to say in it. Unless I admit that the director, for most parts, was following the writer’s dictates. I’ ve become aware that in most of my plays, barring half of Ilhaam and all of Aisa Kehte Hain, most of the direction is done at the writing table…and in the rehearsal room I’m only trying to match, as closely as possible, the actors’ visuals with what I had imagined while writing. Shakker….. being the first play written and directed by me, is hounded the most by the writer’s presence. Everything you see was born on the floor of my living room. Thank god for the actor who saved it from becoming an incestuous feat!

शक्कर के पांच दाने      (हिंदी)

प्रकाशित होने वाले एक संकलन के लिए राजकुमार से एक कविता लिखने का अनुरोध किया गया है। यदि आप राजकुमार को जानते हैं तो आपको इसकी बेतुकी अनुरोध का एहसास होता। एक घंटे लंबे एकालाप में, राजकुमार हमें अपने साधारण गांव में अपने साधारण जीवन और चीनी के पांच दानों – पांच लोगों – के बारे में बताते हैं, जो कल्पना से परे कारणों से इस नीरस जीवन में खड़े हुए हैं।
फ़िल्मी माँ; उनके कवि भाई पुंडलीक; रघु, स्कूल हीरो; बूढ़ा आदमी राधे; और गुमनाम ‘ट्रकवाला दोस्त’।  जैसा कि राजकुमार बात करते हैं, पांच दाने एक एकल जीवन-खेल बन जाते हैं जिसे वह अनजाने में वर्षों से खेल रहे हैं……
…….और राजकुमार को एहसास हुआ कि हर किसी के अंदर एक कहानी है।

समूह के बारे में

aRANYA का गठन 2004 में दोस्तों के एक समूह द्वारा किया गया था, जो पूरी ईमानदारी से, अपनी कहानियाँ बताने के अलावा और कुछ नहीं चाहते थे। जिस किसी के पास बताने के लिए कोई कहानी है उसका जंगल में स्वागत है!
